After NASA announced a successful reboot of rover Curiosity on February 22nd, they took it out of 'safe mode" and it started roaming around the Red Planet again. The other two have been deemed dead or lost. The rover, Opportunity was officially lost in space after a 15 year run. But how do we know it's lost? Maybe, just maybe, it's been captured by another robot on the Red Planet. Do we really know if we are the only ones roving the planet? The Chinese could have taken it. It's fits their m.o.
It's amazing that we have been roaming around on Mars for more than a decade and still haven't landed a human on The Red Planet. We're too busy worrying about what political side to take. Too worried about what statue is offending us. Too concerned about how much we're going to collect for not working this week. What happened to this countries spirit to be the leader, be the winner and be the one country that all others looked at with amazement and desire to be part of? The answer to that one is very simple- politics. Today in America, it means nothing to be united. One side has decided that it's all or nothing. Scoring a 99 on their test is a failure. Everything the other side does isn't good enough. There once was a time when this country would put politics aside, for the purpose and importance of showing the world we are united and even though we might not like one another's ideals and politics, there are times when no matter what, we stand together. Unfortunately, the programming of the younger generations has gone unchecked too long and we are witnessing the fruits of those programming our our youth. It is no longer the United States of America. It's the Divided States of America. But, really only a handful of states seem to be divided from the rest of us. California, New York, Oregon, Minnesota and a couple of others that are on their way.
I watched this Mars 4K video and was pretty damn amazed that we have been roaming around Mars all these years. Who knew? Not many because because we have been so damn busy fighting about collusion, emails, porn stars,China, masks, a Plandemic, what political party is going to pay me more for my vote, taking a knee at sports events....that we have lost the spirit to lead the world. President Kennedy said this as the country united for a common cause-
“We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard, because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win.”
